Prescribed fire is a restorative management strategy for many landscapes, including Mantle Rock Nature Preserve. During fire season, generally February-April and October-November, sections of preserves including trails may be temporarily closed for fire. Learn more about the science and practice of controlled burning in Kentucky, and please follow us on Facebook and Instagram to check for updates on preserve access before you visit.
